Free Swap Meet @ the Preston Community CenterĀ

September 8th, 6 – 8:30pm

Our Free Swap Meet is coming up soon (on Sept 8th). This event is the 2nd Monday of September, so we don’t compete with Labor Day. We’re hoping to set up a lot of items to swap outdoors. The potluck will be indoors.

Here’s how to participate:

If you’re bringing things to “swap”–

  • Bring your gently used items that generally will fit on one table. Items such as school supplies, kitchenware, clothing, home & garden tools or accessories, garden produce, etc.

  • Beyond the items, we’ll ask you to fill out a poster for your table. This can include details of things you’re willing to loan or are seeking. If you have a skill-share or skills for hire, we’d like to create an opportunity to talk about those as well!

  • Show up as early as 5:30 to check in, set up your table, get a nametag, and get your items ready by 6:30.

  • Bring a potluck dish, grab some food, shop and mingle with neighbors.

  • Clean up between 8:30 and 9pm (take items home if they didn’t “sell”.)

As a “shopper”–

  • Come at 6pm to the Preston Community Center, bring a potluck dish (and maybe a reusable shopping bag), eat & mingle, then browse the tables and talk to neighbors.

  • Check in with folks if you’re seeking loaner tools or resources, or have skill share or skills for hire.

We welcome your help with clean-up after the event. We hope to see you (and your stuff) there!
